A shopping experience here is heightened further by the Siam Ocean World aquarium, a modern 16-screen Cineplex, and a number of gourmet restaurants and pleasant cafes.

CentralworldCentralWorld (Chidlom BTS)

An large iconic building of the Bangkok shopping scene, CentralWorld is the epitome of what megamalls are all about. It’s huge in size and filled with just about every type of shop you are likely to be after, including lots of boutique stores and stylish high street fashion brand names such as Zara, Izzue, Miss Sixty, and Timberland. However, it isn’t all about shopping, here you’ll also find a 15-screen cinema, ice-skating rink, kids world and education centre, over 100 eateries and coffee shops, and a large food court with stunning city views.

Terminal 21Terminal 21 (Asoke BTS)     

A classic concept mall, designed to be a fictional airport with each floor of this boutique mall promising to transport you to a different part of the world, from the trendy male fashion of London’s Carnaby Street, to the jewellery and accessories of Istanbul Market Town. There are plenty of Kodak moments with iconic images spread throughout every level and a maze of boutique stores to keep your wallet hand twitching. On the very top floor you’ll find a huge Oscar statue and the malls multi-screen cinema, while one floor below is one of the best mall food courts in the city.

PlatinumPlatinum Fashion Mall (Chidlom BTS)

Not the most impressive building in Bangkok and the decor lacks a little imagination too, at closing time this mall looks more looks a storage lock-up than a popular shopping centre, but if it’s affordable fashion you are looking for then this is the place to be. Platinum is all about inexpensive clothing and accessories for style conscious students and office workers, with the latest fashion sold at wholesale prices. There is little in the way of entertainment but plenty of fast and cheap eats in and around this Bangkok busy mall.

Pantip Plaza (Ratchathewi BTS)

No list of Bangkok malls would be complete without mentioning one of the city’s dedicated IT malls, and Pantip Plaza is without doubt the most famous. This huge tech mall is packed to the rafters with electronics, computing hardware and software, phone and audio accessories, DVDs, CDs, literally anything tech or gadget related, and it’s also where many Bangkokians head when they current tech gear is in need of some repair. It’s certainly not the most modern or luxurious of locations, but if you are looking for some cheap tech and enjoy a bit or bartering, Pantip is the perfect place.
